The Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) in cooperation with the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) conducted hands-on-trainings on Pigeonpea (Kadyos) Production and Stingless Bee (kalulot) Culture for Farmer-Cooperators at Bgy. Del Rosario, Pili, Cam. Sur and Bgy. Panicuason, Naga City last May 17 and 18, 2016, respectively.

The said trainings were conducted in support to the alternative livelihood programs for the Conservation Farming Communities (CFCs) adjacent to Mt. Isarog Natural Park (MINP), with the end in view of eliminating their dependence on the MNWD watershed resources within MINP for their livelihood.

Initial colonies for the Bee Culture were procured by MNWD, while the initial seed requirements for Pigeonpea (Kadyos) Production were supplied by CBSUA. After the first harvest, additional colonies will be dispersed to the next batch of Farmer-Cooperators, while the seeds produced will be re-dispersed to other interested farmers.
