Nurturing Mental Health in this Pandemic: A Webinar on Mental Health for the MNWD Employees

The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus has not only affected our physical health, but also our mental and emotional well-being. Many people, especially those working in the office, experience a different level of stress as they go about their daily work. With this, the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD), initiated by its Human Resource Division (HRD), conducted a webinar concerning mental health on November 20, 2020, entitled: “Nurturing Mental Health in this Pandemic” with Dr. Marylendra “Neth” A. Penetrante, a psychologist from Legaspi, Albay and founder of the Children & Youth Wellness Technical and Advocacy Center (CYWTAC) as the resource speaker.

The webinar aims to break mental stressors being experienced, if any, by our personnel by means of educating them on how to “lead oneself” and to how to undergo self-check in order to maintain a calm and empowered mind which helps improve productivity in the workplace. Dr. Neth discussed ways on how to cope with the ongoing crisis and uncertainties which would aid in creating a self-help mechanism in response to the pandemic, build up resiliency, and help regain a goal-oriented team.

MNWD cares for its workforce, most importantly for those who are experiencing a great deal of distress during these times. This activity is a way of showing the MNWD’s support and empathy to its employees on their journey towards personal growth and eventually, find self-fulfillment. (YMMSavilla)
