HRD Leads Capacity-Building, Self-Development, and Celebratory Activities

A variety of activities transpired at the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) organized by its Human Resource Division (HRD) this October. It is part of HRD’s primary objectives to enhance and increase the abilities of MNWD’s manpower and to recognize them as important components forming the District. This is why HRD initiated and conducted programs to achieve such goals; these include one that gears toward skills and personality development and another in appreciation of the elderly workers in MNWD.

Mid of 2021, the HRD organized a core group of Facilitators, who were empowered to lead activities and become effective communicators. As a follow-up training, a microlearning in Facilitation Skills was held on October 12, 2022, at the MNWD Multi-purpose hall. The training was conducted by Mr. and Mrs. Marion and Febangeline Savilla, a couple of event organizers from Naga City, who operates an event planning business under the name I Love Events. The event aims to equip MNWD’s pool of facilitators to be event planners or event organizers, and possibly, undergo a skills certification in Event Management NC III. They were taught all the needed basic knowledge in planning an event and even had a quick workshop on event hosting. A total of 18 skilled facilitators were in attendance and completed the crash course.

Meanwhile, on October 14, HRD through the Infirmary and Breastfeeding Unit led the 2022 Elderly Filipino Week Celebration. With the theme “Older Persons: Resilience in Nation Building”, the celebration highlights the significant role of the elderly sector in nation-building and in advocating for the promotion of their rights and welfare. The event was filled with fun activities, such as Zumba and Bingo Game, and the participants were also given free health check-ups and medicines by Dr. Siemens A. Bonacua and medical representatives from LRI Therapharma.

With HRD through its capacity-building and microlearning programs, the MNWD employees are given opportunities to enhance their skills in order to drive motivation and become more productive individuals at the same incorporate an environment of work-life balance. (YMMSavilla)
