Many Christians around the world, particularly those of the Catholic faith, mark the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in their calendars. Church services to honor this observance are held on or around December 8. It celebrates the solemn belief in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and it is also the most important Marian feasts in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church, celebrated worldwide.

In preparation for the festivity of Immaculate Conception, a visitation of the image of La Purisima Inmaculada Concepcion happened at the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) compound last November 23, 2017. Under overcast skies, MNWD employees fetched the image of the Immaculate Conception from her home at the Immaculate Conception Parish to the MNWD compound. MNWD Employees as well as other devotees were blessed to experience this rare opportunity.

An hourly vigil was led by every division which was culminated with a Holy Mass, celebrated at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon in honor of the visit of the image of Immaculate Conception, with Rev. Fr. Emil Valeza, Parochial Vicar of Immaculate Conception Parish as celebrant. Before the final blessing, he acknowledged MNWD, its management and the rest of the personnel for welcoming the visitation of the image of La Purisima Inmaculada Concepcion at the MNWD compound.

The image of La Purisima Inmaculada Concepcion followed by MNWD personnel moved out at 4:30 in the afternoon on her way home to the Immaculate Conception Parish. A nine-day novena started on November 29 to December 6 in anticipation of the said festivity.
