Water, Health, and Nutrition

The Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) conducted the Water Conservation and WASH Caravan as well as Dry Sampling of Nido Advance Protectus 3+ to the residents of Brgy. Carolina, Naga City last October 11, 2018 in partnership with Team OnGround Inc.

With the primary objective to boost awareness and instill proper habits relative to water consumption and use, the one-day activity also incorporated health and nutrition in the program as these elements are inseparable. Likewise, the three (3) flagship projects of MNWD were emphasized for the information of the consumers and stakeholders within the District’s service coverage area.

The program was attended by the residents and barangay officials of Carolina together with Team OnGround Inc. who distributed a total of 2, 600 boxes of Nido Advance Protectus 3+ suitable to kids from 3-6 years old.

Meanwhile, last October 12, Friday, MNWD hosted the Philippine Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Blood Letting Activity at the Multipurpose Hall participated in by employees of the water district. The said activity was conducted in line with CSC’s 118th Anniversary celebration.

Through this activity, employees of MNWD were able to donate blood. It is also good to note that donating blood has benefits for the donor’s emotional and physical health. According to the report from Mental Health Foundation, donating blood can help reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and get rid of negative feelings to name a few. Also, further evidence proved that donating blood helps lower risk of heart disease and risk of cancer. (Auria S. Gonzales)
